SoundTube immerses visitors in Mumbai's nature

INDIA: Mumbai's first elevated nature trail has opened recently at Malabar hill, leveraging 92 SoundTube loudspeakers. The treetop walkway offers picturesque sea views, diverse wildlife and an immersive experience among lush greenery.

The wooden walkway covers an expanse of 700 m in length, where visitors can walk amongst the tree tops and take in the scenic trail. For the project, a turnkey contractor was engaged by the local government to provide a PA system, as well as lighting fixtures for within the walkway's structures and side railings.

Ninety-two loudspeakers were evenly distributed across the walkway, powered by two units of SoundTube's MCA2004t power amplifiers. For source input, a third-party analog audio mixer was deployed. To ensure the cabinets blended in with the scenery, the paintable grilles on the loudspeakers allowed for custom color matching to wooden railings.

Shah and his team cited the project a success, as they were able to meet project specifications that were set by the consultant and, thanks ot readily available stock of SoundTube's products, completed the install well within the timeline.

Following systems installation and commissioning, Shah commented: "SoundTube systems are quick to install, saving us time and enabling us ot meet the project deadline. Speech intangibility and overall coverage were the quality we expected."

To ensure the aesthetics of the space were not disrupted, the installation team sought small form factor loudspeakers and in turn turned to SoundTube to provide the system. Tarun Shah from the contractor's team was introduced to SoundTube by Mitul Soni, the manufacturer's technical commercial lead for India.

Following various tests, proof of concepts and approvals from the team, RF31-EZ-T loudspeakers were selected for the project for their compact characteristics. Furthermore, the units fit well within the junction box which was supplied above the wooden logs on the walkway by the lighting fixtures.
